Faljonki ( Russian Фалёнки ) is an urban-type settlement in Kirov Oblast in Russia with 5256 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 120 km as the crow flies east-southeast of the Kirov Oblast Administrative Center , about 5 km from the left bank of the Tschepza and a good 10 km from the border with the Udmurt Republic .
Faljonki is the administrative center of Falyonsky Rajons and the seat of the municipality of Falyonskoye gorodskoje posselenije, which also includes the twelve surrounding villages Bobyli, Demaki, Jarowyje, Jussowo, Moshni, Nikolajewo, Nisewo, Ryakinzy, Russkaja Sada, Sitniki, Soldari and the settlements of Perisky and Vesselkys at the train station Knyazi as well as the section (uchastok) Tschepezki belong.
history
The place was created in 1898 during the construction of the Perm - Vyatka (now Kirov) - Kotlas railway line , when a station was built there, around which a settlement grew. It was named after a well over a kilometer northwest of the village that was built around the turn of the 18th century at the latest and is now incorporated into the Ujesd Slobodskoi of the Vyatka governorate .
In 1918 Faljonki became the administrative seat of a Volost , from which a Rajon of the same name emerged on June 10, 1929. In 1957 the place received the status of an urban-type settlement.

Faljonki has a station at kilometer 1092 of the main line of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which opened on this section in 1899 and has been electrified since 1964 . The regional road 33R-013 runs through the settlement, which from Kirov mainly follows the railway line, crosses the Chepza north of Faljonki, reaches the border with Udmurtia and continues in the direction of Glazov .
