Uni ( Russian Уни́ ) is an urban-type settlement in Kirov Oblast in Russia with 4592 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is just 150 km as the crow flies southeast of the Kirov Oblast Administrative Center . It is not far from the source of the Lumpun , a right tributary of the Kilmes .
Uni is the administrative center of the Rajons Uninski and seat of the municipality Uninskoje gorodskoje posselenije, which also includes the 14 surrounding villages Alypowzy, Bolshaya Dubrowa, Borissowzy, Klyuchi, Malinowka, Malyje university, Mys Nikuljata, Paron, Russkije Timschi, Sewastjanowzy, Udmurtskije Timschi, Udmurtski Surwai and Urai belong, of which only two - Alypowzy to the northwest and Udmurtski Surwai 10 km to the northeast - have more than 100 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
history
The place was known as Uninskoje since the 17th century ; the founding year is 1646. He subsequently belonged to the Ujesd Glasow of the Vyatka governorate . From 1762 he was named Bogojawlenskoje after the church built there (from Russian Bogojawlenije for " apparition of the Lord "), later also Bogojawlenskoje-Uninskoje, before the original name came into use again from the end of the 19th century, later shortened to the current form .
On June 10, 1929, the university became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him. After the interim dissolution of the Rajons on November 14, 1959, it was restored on January 12, 1965, and at the same time Uni received the status of an urban-type settlement.

The regional road 33N-040 leads to Uni, which branches off from 33R-002 Kirow - Wjatskije Polyany near Kumjony and runs through the neighboring Rajon center Bogorodskoje to the west . To the north, the 33N-330 leads to the neighboring district center of Faljonki , almost 70 km away , where the nearest railway station is also located on the main line of the Trans-Siberian Railway . In the east, a road branches off in Uni to the border of the Udmurt Republic, 20 km away, from there to the district centers of Krasnogorskoye and Igra .
