Muraschi ( Russian Мураши ) is a small town in the Kirov Oblast ( Russia ) with 6750 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located about 110 km northwest of the Oblast capital Kirov near the source of the Velikaya , a left tributary of the Vyatka .
Muraschi is the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name .
history
Muraschi was founded in 1895 near an older settlement of the same name as a station settlement during the construction of the railway line Vyatka - Kotlas (opened in 1899) and received city rights in 1944.
