Tuscha ( Russian Тужа́ ) is an urban-type settlement in Kirov Oblast in Russia with 4568 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 150 km as the crow flies southwest of the Kirov Oblast Administrative Center on the river of the same name (also called Tuschinka ), which flows into the Pischma about 5 km northeast of the right .
Tuscha is the administrative center of the Rajons Tuschinski and seat of the municipality Tuschinskoje gorodskoje posselenije. In addition to the settlement, this includes 26 surrounding villages, of which only three have more than 100 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010): Karawannoje (25 km northwest), Kowrischata (14 km northwest) and Poksta (11 km east).
history
The place was founded in 1702 and first had the name Voskressenskoje after the church built there , from Russian Voskressenije for " (Christ) resurrection ". In 1818 (according to other sources as early as 1796) it was renamed Pischemskoje after the nearby river Pishma . He belonged to the Ujesd Jaransk of the Vyatka Governorate .
In 1929 Pischemskoje became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after the river Tusha. This was dissolved twice for several years: from January 20, 1932 to January 20, 1935 and from November 14, 1959 to December 30, 1966. When the Rajon was newly formed in 1935, the current place name became official. Tuscha has had urban-type settlement status since 1971.

traffic
The federal trunk road R176 Vyatka runs through Tusha and, coming from Cheboksary via Yoshkar-Ola , continues via Kirov to Syktyvkar . The nearest train station is a good 30 km south in the neighboring district center of Jaransk, the end point of a route from Zelenodolsk near Kazan via Yoshkar-Ola.
