history

The place was founded in 1702 and first had the name Voskressenskoje after the church built there , from Russian Voskressenije for " (Christ) resurrection ". In 1818 (according to other sources as early as 1796) it was renamed Pischemskoje after the nearby river Pishma . He belonged to the Ujesd Jaransk of the Vyatka Governorate .

In 1929 Pischemskoje became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after the river Tusha. This was dissolved twice for several years: from January 20, 1932 to January 20, 1935 and from November 14, 1959 to December 30, 1966. When the Rajon was newly formed in 1935, the current place name became official. Tuscha has had urban-type settlement status since 1971.
