Manndorf is a district of the city of Herrieden in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Manndorfer Graben, a right tributary of the Altmühl , in a flat hilly plain consisting of arable land. In the northeast the corridor is called Lachenfeld. There are also four particularly old deciduous trees. A community road leads the district road AN 54 and the state road 2248 crossing to Heuberg (1.8 km west) or to a community road (0.4 km east) that leads to Leibelbach to the AN 54 (1.1 km north-west) or to Sauerbach (0.5 km southeast) runs. Another communal road leads to Lammelbach to the AN 54 (0.3 km southwest).

history

The place was probably founded in the 11th century. The place name refers to a man fief that was reassigned after the death of the Grundholden .

In 1801 there were three households in the village, all of which were subject to the Eichstätt monastery .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Manndorf was assigned to the tax district Heuberg and the rural community Lammelbach . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Manndorf was incorporated into Herrieden on July 1, 1971.

The place was originally purely Catholic. The residents of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish according to St. Vitus and Deocar (Herrieden) , the residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish in the Christ Church (Herrieden) .
