Mappano is located in the northwest of the Turin metropolitan area , a few kilometers from Turin Airport. The municipality borders on Borgaro Torinese , Caselle Torinese , Leini , Settimo Torinese and Turin.

Mappano was founded on January 30, 2013 from several places that had previously belonged as parliamentary groups to the municipalities of Caselle Torinese, Borgaro Torinese, Settimo Torinese and Leini.
