Monteu da Po is a municipality with 840 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian metropolitan city of Turin (TO), Piedmont region .
In ancient times, Monteu da Po was initially a Ligurian settlement and was called Bodincomagus (from Bodincus "bottomless", the Ligurian name of the Po ). In Roman times the flourishing colony Industria emerged from this , the economic importance of which was based primarily on its location on the road from Augusta Taurinorum to Vardagate . During excavations, the remains of a tower, an Isis sanctuary as well as valuable bronze figures and numerous inscriptions were found.
Industria appears to have been abandoned in the 4th century.
The current name Monteu is derived from the Latin mons acutus ("steep mountain").
The neighboring municipalities are Verolengo , Brusasco , Lauriano and Cavagnolo .
The municipality covers an area of 7 km².
