Salza di Pinerolo ( Piedmontese Sansa , Occitan Salso ) is a high alpine municipality with 75 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian metropolitan city of Turin (TO), Piedmont region . It is located in the Cottian Alps near the border with France.

The community is a member of the mountain community Comunità Montana Valli Chisone e Germanasca .

geography

The place is in the Valle Germanasca at an altitude of 1245 m above sea level. The municipality covers an area of ​​15.44 km².

Germanasca is a side valley of the Val Cluson and one of the three Waldensian valleys , where the Calvinist lay movement of the Waldensians had their retreat.

The neighboring municipalities are Massello , Perrero and Prali in the same valley and Pragelato in the main valley.
