Mons is a French municipality with 817 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Var in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Draguignan and the canton of Roquebrune-sur-Argens . The residents call themselves Monsois or Monsoises .
geography
Mons lies at 811 m. ü. M. and is surrounded by a hilly, wooded landscape. The neighboring municipalities are Séranon in the north, Escragnolles in the northeast, Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne in the east, Callian , Tourrettes and Fayence in the south, Seillans in the southwest and La Roque-Esclapon in the northwest.
The dolmen of Peygros and the dolmen of Riens are near Mons.
