history
In ancient times, the Via Aurelia , which ran along the left bank of the Nartuby, crossed what is now Trans-en-Provence. A milestone is located near the Notre-Dame de Valaury chapel . Archaeologically significant fragments from the Gallo-Roman period have been found in the Gabre estate , near Notre-Dame de Valaury and in Crouières .
In 1024 the place appears in the sources under the name Trancis . In the 13th century he was a fief of the Abbey of Saint-Victor , later one of the von Villeneuve family. By Louis XII. a baronate was established under Louis de Villeneuve in 1505.
The castle was besieged during the Huguenot Wars in 1579 by the Razats , Protestant as well as Catholic farmers who fought together against the landlords and for freedom of religion. The castle was burned down and the owner killed.
In the 18th century there were two silk factories in the village .
