history

The area of Les Adrets has been populated at least since Roman times. From the Via Aurelia connecting Arles and Rome , which crossed the district, individual milestones have been preserved near the Auberge des Adrets . Prehistoric cave dwellings below the summit of the Adriatic point even further into the past.

However, Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel only became a political municipality through a decree by Napoleon III. from 1867, which Les Adrets-de- Montauroux separated from Montauroux and raised to an independent existence. In December 1891 the place then changed its name to Les Adrets-de-Fréjus . The community finally gave itself its current name in March 1962.

Population development

From its inception until the late 1970s, Les Adrets was a parish with a population of three to four hundred people. In the past 30 years, the population increased to over 2500 people, with a consistently positive birth balance , mainly due to a strong influx.
