Mosbach is a district of the town of Spalt in the district of Roth in Middle Franconia .

Geographical location

The Mosbach flows through the village and feeds a small pond west of the village. Approx. 0.5 km south-east is the Hörlberg ( 448  m above sea level ) in the Löwenhof forest area, an elevation of the Spalter hill country . In the north are the land areas Im Bühl and Dornet, about 0.5 km to the west are the forest areas Bei den Sieben Brunnen and Lug.

The district road RH 6 leads to Güsseldorf (2 km west) or Hauslach (2.2 km east). A community road leads to Wasserzell on state road 2223 (2 km southwest), another leads to Hügelmühle also to St 2223 (1.8 km south), another to Obersteinbach ob Gmünd to the district road RH 9 (3.5 km northwest).

The place was first mentioned in 1294 as "Mospach" when the Eichstätter Bishop Reinboto von Meilenhart with the Regensburg Bishop Heinrich II. Von Rotteneck a . a. this village traded. The Burgraviate of Nuremberg had previously received these places from the Bishop of Regensburg as a fief.

In the Salbuch for the Hochstift Eichstätt , which was established in 1407, there were 15 properties in Mosbach, 13 of which were Eichstättisch. In 1412 the Heilsbronn monastery acquired a small estate, in 1437 a farm and a pond. In 1671 there were 14 properties in the village, 11 of which were subordinate to the Spalt caste office , 2 to the Hl. Geist Spitalamt of the Imperial City of Nuremberg and 1 property to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office.

At the end of the 18th century there were 15 properties in Moosbach. The high court was exercised by the Wernfels-Spalt administration office in Eichstatt . The village and township government had the box office gap held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Spalt (4 whole courtyards, 1 whole courtyard with inn, 3 three-quarter courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 1 half courtyard with inn, 1 Gütlein, 1 Gütlein with forge), the Holy Spirit Hospital Office of the Imperial City of Nuremberg (1 Ganzhof, 1 Köblergut ) and that Heilsbronn monastery administration office (1 half courtyard). As part of the municipal edict , the Mosbach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Engelhof , Güsseldorf , Hügelmühle and Massendorf belonged. In 1811 the rural community Moosbach was formed, which, with the exception of the hill mill, was congruent with the tax district. The hill mill came to the tax district and the rural community Großweingarten . The administration and jurisdiction of the rural community Moosbach was subordinate to the Pleinfeld Regional Court ( renamed the Roth Regional Court in 1858 ) and the financial administration to the Spalt Rent Office (1920–1932: Spalt tax office , from 1932: Schwabach tax office ). From 1862 Moosbach was administered by the Schwabach district office (renamed the Schwabach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Roth and came from 1880 to District Court Roth . In 1903 the place was renamed Mosbach. The municipality had an area of ​​11.113 km².

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Mosbach was incorporated into Spalt on May 1, 1978.
