National Society of Film Critics Award / Best Actor
Winner of the National Society of Film Critics in the category Best Actor (Best Actor) . The awards are presented every year at the beginning of January for the best film productions and filmmakers of the past calendar year. In 1975 and 1977 there were two awards ceremonies in January and December, after which the National Society of Film Critics Award in 1976 and 1978 was not awarded.
The most successful in this category were the American Jack Nicholson and the British-Irish actor Daniel Day-Lewis , who have each won the award three times. The film critics association has succeeded in presenting the Oscar winner 15 times in advance , most recently in 2017 with the victory of Casey Affleck ( Manchester by the Sea ).
At the last award ceremony in 2020, Antonio Banderas ( Sorrow and Glory ) prevailed by 26 points over Adam Driver ( Marriage Story , 43 points) and Adam Sandler ( The Black Diamond , 41 points).
