Niemetal is the Samtgemeinde Dransfeld (administrative headquarters in Dransfeld ) belonging municipality in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony ( Germany ). About 1500 people live in the municipality .

geography

location

The community of Niemetal, which is located west of Dransfeld, lies between Bramwald in the west and Dransfelder Stadtwald in the east. All districts - Varlose, Imbsen, Löwenhagen and Ellershausen vor dem Walde - are traversed by the Nieme (small tributary of the Weser ). Niemetal is surrounded by the Münden Nature Park .

The community of Niemetal consists of four districts:

history

On January 1, 1973, the community of Niemetal was newly formed through the merger of the previous communities of Ellershausen near Münden, Imbsen, Löwenhagen and Varlose.

religion

Niemetal is the seat of the Evangelical Lutheran St. Michaelis parish Niemetal-Bühren, which was formed on January 1, 2011 from the previous St. Michaelis parish of Niemetal and the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Bühren.

Since the local elections on September 11, 2011 , the eleven seats of the municipal council have been distributed among the individual parties as follows:

  • CDU : 6 seats (-1)
  • SPD : 5 seats (+1)

Blazon : "In a wavy cut divided by green and silver (white), on it a lying oak branch in confused colors on both sides, two hanging oak leaves and one branch each."

The wave cut stands for the Nieme. The oak branch comes from the coat of arms of the Lords of Stockhausen , who had a great influence in the community for centuries. The four oak leaves represent the districts.

Niemetal is via various country roads with the federal highway 3 , which from Hann. Münden to Göttingen leads connected.
