The community is located in Flachgau in the Salzburg region, 12 km east of the city of Salzburg in the judicial district of Thalgau .

The community consists of one village. Districts are Edt, Hub, Lacknerwinkel, Lehenau, Müllnerfeld, Oberplainfeld, Plainfeld-Scattered Houses and Weilmannschwandt.

history

In 1154 the place was first mentioned by Engelschalkus von Pluginveld. The tower of the church, built in 1798, collapsed again in 1800. In 1891 the Vicariate Plainfeld was elevated to a parish.

The coat of arms of the community is: “In a red shield under a black shield head covered by a gold pole, a green three-mountain, from whose central dome five narrow silver streams rise, running radially upwards. The middle streams are covered with a golden ring. "
