Papua New Guinea participated inthe 2012 Olympic Games in London . It was the ninth participation in the Summer Olympics. The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee nominated eight athletes in five sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Toea Wisil .
