The men's slalom in alpine skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. local time (2:00 a.m. CET ) in the Yongpyong Alpine Center .

André Myhrer from Sweden won the gold medal . The Swiss Ramon Zenhäusern won silver and Michael Matt from Austria received the bronze medal .

Before the race, the overall World Cup leader, Austrian Marcel Hirscher, was the favorite. However, the Austrian was eliminated in the first round because he missed a goal. His strongest competitor was the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen , who confirmed this in the first run and finished with the fastest time of all athletes. However, he got on the inside ski at the beginning of his second run and also missed a goal.

The Swede André Myhrer , who already won the bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, was able to secure the gold medal. This made the ski racer the oldest Olympic champion in slalom at the age of 35 years and 42 days.

The Austrian Michael Matt , who was twelfth after the first run , was able to secure the bronze medal with the fastest time in the second run.

The best German was Fritz Dopfer , who took 20th place. Linus Straßer, however, was eliminated in the first run.
