← Reichsbund Cup 1935/36
The Reichsbundpokal 1936/37 was the fifth regional selection held - and the second competition known as the Reichsbundpokal . The winning team for the first time was the team from the Lower Rhine district , defeating defending champion Saxony 2-1 in the final . Previously, Niederrhein defeated last year's finalist Berlin-Brandenburg in the semifinals . The Gau Westfalen no longer relied entirely on players from FC Schalke 04 , which dominated in the 1930s , but this selection team was eliminated again early in the competition. Bayern , who were also favored, had to admit defeat to Saxony 1: 2 after extra time in the preliminary round after an exciting fight.
