history

The place was first mentioned in documents in the 14th century. Remains of a castle west of Rimbach (foundation walls and well) could still be made out before the Second World War. The stones were removed, the well was spilled.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 5 properties in Rimbach (1 estate, 1 estate, 1 Häckersgütlein , 1 little house, 1 community pastor's house). The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . The Birkenfeld monastery office held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

As part of the community edict, Rimbach was assigned to the Oberroßbach tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Oberroßbach, founded in 1813 . On January 1, 1970, Rimbach was reassigned to Linden . On January 1, 1978 Rimbach was incorporated into Markt Erlbach as part of the regional reform .
