history

The place was first mentioned by name in the castle counts Salbuch of 1361/64 as "Mu e spach".

At the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Mosbach. The high court south of the Aurach was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff in Markt Erlbach and north of the Aurach by the city bailiff's Neustadt an der Aisch . The village and township government had the box office Neustadt held. The landlords were the Principality of Bayreuth (11 properties; Kastenamt Neustadt: 7 goods; Monastery Office Münchaurach : 4 Gütlein), the Herrnneuses manor (1 manor ), the Burgfarrnbach manor (1 mill) and the Stübach manor (1 yard).

As part of the community edict , Mosbach was assigned to the Herrneuse tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Herrneuses, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) it was re- grouped into the newly formed rural community Losaurach . Mosbach was subordinate to the district court of Markt Erlbach . One property, however, was subject to the Brunn Patrimonial Court in voluntary jurisdiction and the police until 1833 . On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Mosbach was incorporated into Markt Erlbach.
