history
The place was first mentioned by name in 1158 in a letter of protection from Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa for the Münchaurach Monastery as "Newses". By the early 13th century at the latest there was a castle in the village. In 1235 a Dietmar von Nuzzeze is mentioned, who was allowed by the burgrave Konrad of Nuremberg to donate his goods to the Nuremberg Order of the Teutonic Order . In 1421 the brothers Hans, Heinz, Jörg, Wilhelm and Franz Rummel received the village "Neüses" as a fief from Margrave Friedrich I. From the end of the 15th century the place came into the possession of the Sigwein family. In the second half of the 17th century, the von Hohenlohe family , based in Wilhermsdorf, acquired the place. Since then, the name form "Herrnneuses" is attested. Colloquially, the residents are still referred to as "the Hohenlohen" to this day, regardless of the fact that the place passed to the Counts of Styrum in the 18th century. The Reformation was brought to Herrnneuses in 1572. After 1594 the Lord Neuseser Pastor Lietz Heimer († 1616) after sub Esselbach had been transferred, he created as an artistic sculpture there and in Altheim the baptismal fonts (Herr Neuses was Filialort of Altheim, but was already independent parish in 1465).
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 26 properties in Herrnneuses (14 estates, 1 forge, 1 little estate, 1 tavern, 6 houses, 1 mill) and a sheep farm, which was a communal building. The Herrneuses manor exercised the high court , the village and community rule as well as the manorial rule over all properties. At that time, the Herrnneuses manor belonged to the barons von und zu Frankenstein and was controlled by the knightly canton of Altmühl . It exercised the high court and the village and community rule over Hohenwürzburg , Losaurach , Oberstrahlbach and Schellert . In addition to the 26 properties in Herrnneuses, it was also the landlord in Hohenwürzburg (1 property), Kästel (1), Losaurach (5), Mosbach (1), Oberstrahlbach (12) and Schellert (25). In 1797 the manor was bought by the Bayreuth War and Domain Chamber and added to the Neustadt Chamber of Commerce.
In 1810 Herrnneuses came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district Herrnneuses was formed in 1811 , to which Bottenbach , Hohenwürzburg , Losaurach , Mosbach , Oberstrahlbach , Rennhofen , Schellert and Wulkersdorf belonged. In 1813, the rural community of Herrnneuses was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community was split into
- Rural community of Herrnneuses with Hohenwürzburg and Oberstrahlbach
- Rural community Losaurach with Mosbach
- Rural community Rennhofen with Bottenbach
- Rural community Schellert
- Wulkersdorf to the rural community Eggensee .
The rural community of Herrnneuses was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). From 1862, Herrnneuses was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office ( renamed Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The community had an area of 5.268 km².
On January 1, 1972, Herrnneuses was incorporated into Neustadt as part of the regional reform .
