Kemmathen is a district of the Markt Erlbach market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

A nameless stream rises south of the hamlet , a left tributary of the Ulsenbach, which in turn is a left tributary of the Zenn . Approx. The spruce forest lies 0.5 km west of the village , and the Sauberg rises approx. 0.25 km east . The state road 2244 leading to Erlbach (2.5 km south-east) or to envy Hard winds (1.7 km north-west).

history

The place name is particularly widespread in southern Germany. It is derived from the Latin word calminata and originally referred to a room with a fireplace .

Towards the end of the 18th century there was a property in Kemmathen. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The Neuhof caste office was the landlord of the property .

As part of the community edict, Kemmathen was assigned to the Markt Erlbach tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipality of Markt Erlbach, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) it was changed to the rural community Eschenbach . On September 14, 1824, the reunification took place in the rural community of Siedelbach . On January 1, 1972, Kemmathen was incorporated into Markt Erlbach as part of the regional reform .
