Eschenbach is a district of the Markt Erlbach market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located less than two kilometers south of the center of the eponymous town of the market community on the still flat left slope above the Eschenbach, which arises at the level of the village, in a forest-covered valley below the slopes and soon flows into the Zenn from the left . To the east is the Große Lohteile corridor area , and to the southeast, Kleines Loch . Approx. The Weiherberg rises 0.5 km to the west beyond the valley basin .

The state road 2252 leads to Markt Erlbach (1.4 km northwest) or Wilhermsdorf (3.5 km east). A community road leads to Häringsmühle (0.9 km south). The place has a stop at the Zenngrundbahn , which descends from Erlbach through the Eschenbachtal into the Zennal.

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1144 as "Eskenbach" in a document in which the Heilsbronn monastery sold an estate in the place. Further acquisitions of the monastery followed in 1164 and 1165. In 1308 Konrad von Schlüsselberg gave the monastery his tithe in Markt Erlbach and Eschenbach. In 1310, Syfried von Löpsingen bequeathed a farm in Eschenbach to the monastery on condition that he be buried in Heilsbronn. The monastery had a 125 acre forest there called the Bastleite. Eschenbach was also a wine village and had to pay the wine tithes. The monastery acquired a total of eight properties. In the Thirty Years' War four of which were inhabited.

At the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Eschenbach. The high court and the rulership of the village and community was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The landlords were the Stadtvogteiamt Markt Erlbach (2 farms, 1 half farm, 5 farms) and the caste office Neuhof (1 mill, 3 farms, 1 half farm, 2 goods, 2 half goods).

In 1810 Eschenbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Markt Erlbach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1813 the rural community Eschenbach was formed, to which Häringsmühle , Mittelmühle , Unterulsenbach and Wolfsmühle belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court of Markt Erlbach in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ipsheim Rent Office in the financial administration . With the second municipal edict (1818), Altziegenrück and Blümleinsmühle were reunified from Markt Erlbach to Eschenbach. On September 14, 1824, the Blümleins-, Mittel- and Wolfsmühle were transferred to the newly founded rural community of Siedelbach . From 1862 Eschenbach was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch District Office (renamed Neustadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Markt Erlbach Rent Office (1920–1929: Markt Erlbach tax office , from 1929: Fürth tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Markt-Erlbach until 1879, from 1880 to 1959 district court of Markt Erlbach , from 1959 district court of Fürth . The community originally had an area of ​​8.909 km². 1958 Unterulsenbach was reassigned to Wilhermsdorf . This reduced the area to 6,791 km².

On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Eschenbach was incorporated into Markt Erlbach as part of the regional reform .
