Ruta 4 (Bolivia)
The Ruta 4 is a national road in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Routing
The road has a length of 1657 km and crosses Bolivia from west to east in its entire length, from the Cordillera Occidental on the Chilean border to the lowlands on the Brazilian border. The road crosses the departments of Oruro , La Paz , Cochabamba and Santa Cruz . It begins in the west as a continuation of the Chilean Route 11 at Tambo Quemado and ends in the east in the city of Puerto Suárez , from where a detour of Route 4 leads to Puerto Busch .
The entire Ruta 4 is paved or concreted and is in excellent condition; only the arm leading from Puerto Suárez to Puerto Busch along the Brazilian border has not yet been developed and consists of gravel and dirt road.

The Ruta 4 was declared part of the Bolivian national road network " Red Vial Fundamental " by decree 25.134 of August 31, 1998 .
