The district of San Juan de Lurigancho is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . Its area is 131.25 km². In 2017, the district officially had 1,038,495 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 582,975, in 2007 it was 898,443. The district is considered to be high in crime.
