TG4 (English pronunciation [ ˈtiːd͡ʒiː ˌfɔːɹ ], Irish pronunciation [ ˈtʲeːɟeː ˈcahɪɾʲ ] or more commonly [ ˈtiːd͡ʒiːˈcahɪɾʲ ]) is a public television station in Ireland that broadcasts in the Irish language . TG4 has been broadcasting from its headquarters in Baile na hAbhann since October 31, 1996 (initially as Teilifís na Gaeilge ) .
The broadcaster maintains a partnership with the broadcaster RTÉ , but otherwise acts independently. He is also responsible for the Irish participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest , which will be entered for the first time in 2015 .
