10 + 10 Pf - surcharge stamp of the GDR post 1965 ( house of the teacher , Berlin), imprint "Help for Vietnam"

Invincible Vietnam was a series of stamps from the GDR Deutsche Post . A first surcharge stamp with the imprint "Help for Vietnam " was issued as a forerunner in August 1965. This stamp was a motif from 1964 from the series 15 Years GDR .

The issues of this series appeared in the GDR from October 1966 to November 1979 at irregular intervals. All of these stamps are related to the Vietnam War in terms of content and timing : from March 1965, the USA had massively increased its troops in South Vietnam and had started active acts of war against communist North Vietnam . In 1971, during the post war between the Federal Republic and the GDR, among other things, official decorative envelopes for this stamp series were returned by the Federal Republic. After the defeat and the withdrawal of the Americans by March 1973, the last stamp of this series appeared in October 1973, which was followed by another six years later.

From 1975 the follow-up series " Solidarity " appeared, initially also at irregular intervals and then annually from 1980 to 1989 .
