The postage stamp year 1982 of the Deutsche Post of the German Democratic Republic comprised 70 individual special stamps , four stamp blocks with a total of six special stamps and two miniature sheets with a total of seven special stamps. Fifteen postage stamps were printed together; there were two pairs with an interior decorative field. One motif was available both as a single stamp and as a miniature sheet. Definitive stamps were not issued in this year. There were a total of 97 different editions.

All postage stamp issues since 1964 as well as the 2- mark values ​​of the definitive series President Wilhelm Pieck and the definitive series of State Council Chairman Walter Ulbricht , published since 1961, originally had unlimited postage validity . With the reunification after October 2, 1990, all brands lost their validity.
