Michel block number 10

The postage stamp year 1954 of the Deutsche Post of the German Democratic Republic comprised 15 individual special stamps and a stamp block with one special stamp.

New definitive stamps were not issued this year, but existing stamps were published with a new franking imprint . A total of 24 motifs were issued.

particularities

Due to a postage reduction on October 1, 1954, new definitive stamps were required. Since these were not yet available, an overprint with new postage levels was issued on existing definitive stamps for the first time on postage stamps from the GDR. This compilation is an excerpt of the most important changes.
