Postage stamps from 1954 issued by the Deutsche Bundespost

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The postage stamp year 1954 of the Deutsche Bundespost comprised seven special stamps and 20 new definitive stamps . The definitive set of Federal President Theodor Heuss was issued with 20 values from 2 Pfennig to 3 DM.

In 1957 , the values between 30 and 90 pfennigs were replaced by somewhat smaller stamps with the same motif, but with different colors. With the reprint of six stamps from 1960, with the values 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 and 25 Pfennig, the colors also vary, but only slightly. With this set, stamp collectors differentiate between the mentioned color variants and many different features, which are characterized by different papers, with and without fluorescence , as well as by different orientation of the watermark .
