Under the name the capitals of the states of the Federal Republic of Germany which gave German Federal Post twelve different stamps out in 1964 and the 1965th Basically, noteworthy buildings from these cities were shown; but there were also general presentations, such as in Hamburg , Kiel and Stuttgart . All issues were valid until December 31, 1966. This series was only available as a sheet of stamps .

Commemorative coin series

Since 2006, today's federal states have been honored annually with a 2 euro commemorative coin . Two of the motifs chosen on the stamps were also used on the commemorative coins: in 2009 the Ludwig Church for Saarland and in 2010 the Bremen Town Hall .
