Tourism (stamp series)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under the name of tourism gave German Federal Post 13 different stamps from the 1969 to the 1973rd Basically, city views or important economic sectors that are also interesting from a tourist point of view were shown. This series was only available as a sheet of stamps .

All postage stamps issued since January 1, 1969 had unlimited postage validity and there was no expiration date as in previous years. With the introduction of the euro as a common European currency on January 1, 2002, this regulation became obsolete. These stamps could then be used until June 30, 2002; However, an exchange was possible until September 30th in the branches or directly at the Deutsche Post .

Two very similar motifs were issued in 1977, but these come from the series of European stamps issued annually .

Individual evidence

  1. There were few exceptions, however; the definitive stamp series German Buildings from Twelve Centuries , the Brandenburg Gate and the special stamps in honor of the 1968 Summer Olympics in the city of Mexico were valid without restriction. These stamps were issued before 1969.
