Postage stamps issued in 1978 by the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin

The postage stamp year 1978 of the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin comprised 20  special stamps , a stamp block and eight definitive stamps . All issues of this year were valid for postage until December 31, 1991 .

The nominal value of the brands was DM 22.55  ; in addition there was a surcharge of DM 2.65 for charity .

The special stamp for Karl Hofer's 100th birthday was of an unusual size for Berlin postage stamps . Four supplementary values ​​each were issued in the definitive series " Industry and Technology " and " Castles and Palaces "; these appeared at the same time with the inscription Deutsche Bundespost . For the third and last time, the annual Christmas stamp was produced as a stamp pad. For the first time issues were printed as charity stamps " Sporthilfe ". The Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation received the proceeds from the award .

1. ↑ In 1979 a 90 Pf value was expected to be output, but this did not happen. The Michel numbers Bund 991 and Berlin 583 were kept free and were never reassigned in order not to have to change all subsequent numbers. In contrast, a 90 Pf value was issued in the series Castles and Palaces on January 11, 1979 ( Mi. -Nr. 588, 997 ).
