The postage stamps issued by the Deutsche Bundespost in 1959 comprised 19  special stamps , five of which were only available in one block. There were also five definitive stamps , these were the first stamps that were also issued by the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin. Some of the special stamps were also issued by the Oberpostdirektion des Saarlandes with the same motifs, but with the addition Saarland and in the currency franc .

Remarks

  1. a b These stamps appeared on the same date with the same motif, color and value also as definitive stamps for the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin, but with the addition Berlin in the medallion inscription.
  2. a b These two stamps with the same motif were issued in 1959 by the Deutsche Bundespost Saarland .
  3. ^ The circulation of the two stamps for the postage stamp exhibition was initially only 3.05 million. Since this was sold out quickly, another 5.8 million were reprinted with slightly different color in the edge and value imprint with the issue date August 22nd.
