from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1949 postage stamps issued by Deutsche Post (as the successor to the Deutsche Reichspost , the Deutsche Bundespost was only founded in 1950) comprised ten special stamps . Strictly speaking, these are the special stamps issued since the institutionalization of the Federal Republic of Germany through the entry into force of the Basic Law on May 23, 1949. The definitive stamps of the three western occupation zones were still sold.
