The postage stamp year 1990 of the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin comprised 18  special stamps and two definitive stamps . The postage stamps of this year were valid until December 31, 1991 .

The nominal value of the brands was DM 16.05  ; an additional DM 3.70 was paid for charitable purposes .

Two supplementary values of the definitive series “ Sights ” appeared on the same day for the German Federal Post Office .

For the first time there was a joint edition with the same motif, which was published by five European postal administrations Deutsche Bundespost , Deutsche Bundespost Berlin , German Democratic Republic and in Belgium and Austria on 500 years of European postal history.

The stamps published on September 27, 1990 were originally intended to be issued on the usual October date. Due to the reunification of Germany on October 3, 1990, the issue date was brought forward, as it removed the special status of Berlin under the Four Power Agreement and thus both the necessity and the justification of special stamp issues by the "Deutsche Bundespost Berlin".

For philatelists , this collecting area is now complete.
