Postage stamps issued in 1989 by the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin

The postage stamp year 1989 of the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin comprised 20  special stamps and ten definitive stamps . All issues of this year were valid for postage until December 31, 1991 .

The nominal value of the brands was DM 35.75  ; an additional DM 4.20 was paid for charitable purposes .

As supplementary values, there were four new motifs in the “ Sights ” definitive series and six new motifs in the “ Women in German History ” series ; these appeared at the same time with the inscription Deutsche Bundespost . For the first time in this year, two Christmas stamps were printed, and these were also the last issues. No more appeared in 1990 . The number of charity stamps has been reduced to three; in previous years there were always four motifs.
