Postage stamp year 1958 of the Deutsche Bundespost

The postage stamp year 1958 of the Deutsche Bundespost comprised 20  special stamps and a single definitive stamp , which had already been issued in 1955, but with a different watermark . Some of the special stamps were also issued by the Oberpostdirektion des Saarlandes with the same motifs, but with the addition Saarland and in the currency franc .

In 1957 the series was issued without a watermark . However, a few sheets were accidentally printed on watermarked paper, whereupon the Deutsche Bundespost had another 10 million reprinted with watermarks to prevent speculative developments.
