Stamp pads of the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Between 1949 and 1987, eight blocks of stamps were issued by the Deutsche Bundespost Berlin .

The first edition appeared in 1949 with the name Deutsche Post . Only these stamps were also available individually from stamp sheets; at the same time they were the first hammer stamps for the Berlin issues. The surcharge for the second block of 20 pfennigs was not noted on the stamps and was donated directly to the Berlin Zoo . All postage stamps issued from January 1, 1969 onwards were issued with unlimited postage validity , but lost their postage validity on December 31, 1991 as a result of reunification and the special status of Berlin that was no longer applicable.
