Postage Stamp Day (GDR)

Badge of the Philatelist Association of the GDR in the German Cultural Association

The day of the postage stamp , from 1967 the day of the philatelists , was, in addition to the day of the event itself, the name of a stamp series of the Deutsche Post of the GDR . The fourth postage stamp issued by the GDR after it was founded on October 7, 1949 was dedicated to “Stamp Day”.

Even in many years when there was no direct issue of "Stamp Day" or "Philatelist Day", philatelic motifs were issued. National and international stamp exhibitions were recognized in these editions .
