The Verbandsgemeinde Kirchberg (Hunsrück) is an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate . The municipality includes the town of Kirchberg (Hunsrück) and 39 independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous town of Kirchberg (Hunsrück). The Verbandsgemeinde came into being in 1970 as part of an administrative and territorial reform .

The most important commercial enterprise is Frankfurt-Hahn Airport . There are small and medium-sized industrial companies in the industrial and commercial areas on the Hahn, in Sohren and in Kirchberg as well as handicraft companies in all branches, especially in the building and construction industry.
The community is accessible from the federal highways B 50 , B 327 ( Hunsrückhöhenstraße ) and the B 421 . Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is located between the communities of Hahn and Lautzenhausen . The now closed Hunsrückquerbahn Langenlonsheim - Hermeskeil runs through the association .
