Victor F. Snyder

Victor F. Snyder (born September 27, 1947 in Medford , Oregon ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party . As a member of the House of Representatives , he represented the 2nd Congressional District of Arkansas from 1997 to 2011 .

Career

After his military service, u. a. with assignments in Vietnam, Snyder studied chemistry at Willamette University and medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland . After completing his studies, he moved to Little Rock and from 1982 worked for 15 years as a general practitioner. During this time he took part in various aid missions in developing countries. As a part-time job, he also studied law, which he completed in 1988. From 1991 he was a deputy in the Senate of the State of Arkansas . He was first elected to the US House of Representatives in the 1996 congressional elections. Six re-elections followed; In 2010 he did not run again.
