Dolná Súča (Hungarian Alsószúcs ) is a municipality in Trenčiansky kraj in western Slovakia .
The place is located in the White Carpathians on the Súčanka brook , about twelve kilometers north of Trenčín . The highest point of the cadastral area is the limestone mountain Krasín ( 516 m nm ). Small settlements (Polníky, Repákovci) also belong to the municipality.
Today's municipality was settled in the Middle and Younger Bronze Age ( Lusatian culture ). The place was first mentioned in 1204 as Terra Sucza . After the Mongol invasion in 1421, the Súča Castle was built on the Krasín Mountain as a border castle, first mentioned in 1244, to whose rule the municipality also belonged. Around 1550 the castle was demolished and from 1559 it belonged to the estate of Trenčín Castle . The population was mainly concerned with agriculture, only a small proportion was active in the craft.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia , or today Slovakia.
The civil engineer Augustín Mrázik (1928–2011) was born in Dolná Súča.
