Artjom Alexejewitsch Anissimow ( Russian Артём Алексеевич Анисимов , English Artem Alexeyevich Anisimov ; born May 24, 1988 in Yaroslavl , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League since July 2019 . Previously was center in the NHL for the New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets active. With the Russian national team , he won the gold medal at the 2014 World Cup .
Career
Artyom Anissimow began his career in his hometown with Lokomotive Yaroslavl . There he first played in the second team. From the 2006/07 season he was part of the Yaroslavl first team.
After he was selected in the second round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft in 54th place by the New York Rangers , he played one more season in his home country before he ventured into North America for the 2007/08 season and with the Hartford Wolf Pack became a regular player in the American Hockey League . In the 2008/09 season the striker was the top scorer in Hartford with 81 points. During the season Anissimow was appointed twice by the New York Rangers in the NHL squad.
On July 23, 2012, he was transferred to the Columbus Blue Jackets along with Brandon Dubinsky and Tim Erixon and a first-round vote for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft . The New York Rangers received in return Rick Nash , Steven Delisle and a third-round draft pick. Due to the NHL lockout, Anissimow played for his hometown club Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Continental Hockey League between September and December 2012 .
In June 2015 he was transferred to the Chicago Blackhawks along with Corey Tropp , Marko Daňo , Jeremy Morin and a four-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 2016 . In return, the Blue Jackets went to Brandon Saad , Alex Broadhurst and Michael Paliotta . As a result of the move, Anissimow spent a total of four seasons in Chicago until July 2019 before he was again part of a transfer. In exchange for Zack Smith , he finally moved to the Canadian capital to the Ottawa Senators .
International
Anissimow represented his native Russia between 2006 and 2008 at a total of three Junior World Championships. He won a silver and a bronze medal. He also played in the 2007 Super Series . In the senior division, he won the silver medal in 2010 and 2015, the gold medal in 2014 and the bronze medal in the world championship in 2019.
