European Basketball Championship 2017

The 41st Men's Basketball European Championship was to take place from September 2nd to 19th, 2021. Due to the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed by FIBA by one year to the period from September 1 to 18, 2022 on April 9, 2020 . The official name is EuroBasket 2022 . After the EM had been held every two years since 1947, it would have been the first European championship to open the newly introduced four-year cycle. 24 national teams will take part in the tournament.

The European Championship takes place in four different countries, namely in Germany , Georgia , Italy and the Czech Republic . In Germany, Cologne (a preliminary group) and Berlin (final round) will be the host cities.
