Ben Zolinski (born May 3, 1992 in Berlin ) is a clubless German soccer player who can be used as a right-footed defensive player in full defense as well as in the sixth position. Zolinski began his career at Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division . Most recently he was under contract with SC Paderborn 07 .

Career

Youth in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Although Zolinski was born in Berlin, he learned to play football from 1997 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , where he first joined SV Möllenhagen / Bocksee in the Müritz district and later moved to the neighboring 1 FC Neubrandenburg 04 . In August 2006, Zolinski came to FC Hansa Rostock as a C-youth , whose youth teams he was to go through in the following five years. Zolinski had already drawn the attention of the German Football Association to himself in Neubrandenburg , so that, among other things, he was invited to individual courses for the U-15 national team in September 2006 , but did not appear in the various youth teams of the football association.

For Rostock Zolinski played from 2007 in the U-17-Bundesliga (B-Jugend), which was founded in the same year , in which he scored a goal in a total of 21 appearances in the premiere season 2007/08 and thus reached fifth place this season contributed to the final table. In the following season 2008/09 Zolinski ran 25 times for Hansa in the U-17 Bundesliga, where he contributed with one goal to fourth place now achieved. Due to his performances for Rostock's U-17s, Zolinski had also been able to recommend himself for the next higher year of the Hanseatic League, for which he completed two missions in the 2008/09 season of the U-19 Bundesliga (A-youth).

Subsequently, Zolinski also belonged to the U-19s supervised by Michael Hartmann . With 23 appearances in the U-19 Bundesliga, he was one of the top performers of the Rostock team, which this season reached the championship of its Bundesliga relay for the first time and thus qualified for the final round of the German youth championship. In this, Zolinski played both semi-finals against 1. FSV Mainz 05 . In the final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , in which Hansa became German A youth champions for the first time with a 1-0 win, Zolinski was absent due to a yellow-red card received in the semi-final second leg .

In 2010/11 , Zolinski initially continued to play for Hansa's A-Jugend in the U-19 Bundesliga, which, under coach Roland Kroos, was unable to match the success of the previous year. Nevertheless, Zolinski recommended himself with good performances for the men's teams of FC Hansa, so that he made his debut on September 5, 2010 for Rostock's reserve team in the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost . Initially, however, this should remain his only assignment for the reserve team trained by Axel Rietentiet , which was only withdrawn from the fourth-class regional league to the top division at the beginning of the season due to financial motives . Instead, Zolinski played in the spring of 2011 in the focus of the professional team, which was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time in the previous year and now took part in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Cup for the first time as a third division , which they finally won. Coach Peter Vollmann also used Zolinski on his way to winning the title by replacing him on February 23, 2011 in the round of 16 against Rostock FC . However, Zolinski did not come to further missions for Rostock's men's teams and was instead used again in the U-19, for which he finally scored a goal in a total of 18 missions in the league. In addition, the team reached the final of the DFB Junior Club Cup 2010/11 , in which Zolinski scored the interim 1-1 equalizer against SC Freiburg , but was ultimately defeated on penalties.

Beginnings in Rostock and Jena

Although Rostock's professional team, including Pelle Jensen and Tom Weilandt, also increasingly relied on the players of the A-youth championship team, Zolinski initially did not succeed in recommending himself for a takeover in the professional squad, which was immediately promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga by the summer of 2011. Instead, it was awarded to third division club Carl Zeiss Jena for the 2011/12 season. In this, however, Zolinski could not prevail and was only used in the Jena reserve team, which, like Rostock's second team, competed in the Oberliga Nordost in the 2011/12 season. Therefore, he returned to Rostock in January 2012, where he continued to play in the major league for the reserve team trained by Axel Rietentiet in the following six months . Although Zolinski reached the championship of their season with the team, this was finally denied promotion to the regional league because of the simultaneous relegation of the second division team.

For the third division season 2012/13 , Wolfgang Wolf Zolinski , who is now acting as coach, was called to the professional squad, so that on July 21, 2012 he was substituted for the first time in the third division. However, this should remain Zolinski's only assignment under coach Wolf, as he was initially only called up in the reserve team. Only from November 2012 Zolinski was again considered in the professional team, whose coaching position had meanwhile been filled with Marc Fascher ; in the spring of 2013, however, he found himself again at the games of the reserve team. At the end of the season, however, Zolinski was able to strongly recommend himself to Rostock's regular formation, so that he was in the starting line-up for the last five days of the season and thus had a share in the relegation as he was twelfth in the final table. Although he had therefore recommended an extension of his contract, which expired at the end of the season, he was not made an extension offer for economic reasons.
