Cascade County is a county in the state of Montana in the United States . The county seat is Great Falls .

According to the 2000 census , the county had 80,357 people. There were 32,547 households and 21,448 families. The population density was 12 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 90.72% White, 1.12% African American, 4.22% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, and 0.68% other races Groups; 2.36% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.43% of the population.
Of the 32,547 households, 32.20% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 52.30% were married couples living together, 9.90% were single mothers. 34.10% were not families. 28.80% were single households and 10.90% had someone living there who was 65 years of age or over. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.97 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 26.00% residents under 18 years of age, 9.10% between 18 and 24 years of age, 28.10% between 25 and 44 years of age, 22.80% between 45 and 64 years of age 14.00% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 97.90 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 95.70 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 32,971 , and the median income for a family is $ 39,949. Males had a median income of $ 28,993 versus $ 20,970 for females. The per capita income was $ 17,566. 13.50% of the population and 10.40% of families are below the poverty line. 18.60% of these were under 18 years of age and 8.40% were 65 years of age or older.

Three locations in the county have National Historic Landmark status , Great Falls Portage , Charles M. Russell House and Studio, and First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park . 44 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 7, 2018).
