Glacier County is a county in the state of Montana in the United States . The county seat is at Cut Bank .

As of the 2000 census , the county had 13,247 people. There were 4,304 households and 3,245 families. The population density was 2 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 35.43% White, 0.08% African American, 61.80% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, and 0.18% other races Groups; 2.39% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.20% of the population.

Of the 4,304 households, 42.90% had children and adolescents under the age of 18 living with them. 53.30% were married couples living together, 16.20% were single mothers. 24.60% were not families. 21.60% are single households and 7.70% have someone living there who is 65 years of age or over. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.56.

For the entire county, the population was composed of 34.90% residents under 18 years of age, 9.10% between 18 and 24 years of age, 26.90% between 25 and 44 years of age, 19.90% between 45 and 64 years of age 9.20% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 97.90 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 94.10 males.

The median income for a household in the county is $ 27,921 , and the median income for a family is $ 31,193. Males had a median income of $ 27,445 versus $ 23,036 for females. The per capita income was $ 11,597. 27.30% of the population and 23.50% of families are below the poverty line. 32.70% of these were under 18 years of age and 20.10% were 65 years of age or older.

Three locations in the county have National Historic Landmark status , Camp Disappointment , Going-to-the-Sun Road, and the Great Northern Railway Buildings . A total of 24 buildings and sites in the county are registered on the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 8, 2018).
