Treasure County is a county in the central southeast of the state of Montana in the United States . The county seat is in Hysham .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the county has a total area of ​​2550 km 2 , of which 2530 km 2 is land and around km 2 (about 0.7%) is water. Based on the area, Treasure County is the fourth smallest county in the state. A small portion of the Crow Reservation is in the county area.

As of the 2000 census , the county had 861 people. There were 357 households and 242 families. The population density was less than 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 96.40% White, 0.12% African American, 1.63% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.93% other races Groups; 0.58% were from two or more races. 1.51% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
