Beginnings and move to Seville

Alves at Sevilla FC

Dani Alves began his professional career in 2001 at EC Bahia , for whom he made his debut in the first team at the age of 18. For the 2002/03 season he was loaned to Sevilla FC for half a year . He then took part in the 2003 Junior World Cup, which he won with Brazil and in which he was voted the third best player of the tournament. Then the Sevilla FC signed him for a million euro transfer fee. In his first two years with his new club, he ran mainly as a right midfielder, as he was still in the shadow of the aspiring Sergio Ramos . However, in the 2005/06 season , Alves' breakthrough came with winning the UEFA Cup , where he was named the best player of the tournament. Not unexpectedly, therefore, Liverpool were interested in him, but the requests were rejected. In December 2006, Alves extended his contract until 2012.

The following season 2006/07 Dani Alves played successfully; he finished third in the league and won the UEFA Cup again. In the summer of 2007 he became a Spanish citizen, clearing a place for another non-EU player at Sevilla FC. In August 2007, Alves told Spanish magazine Marca that he would like to leave Seville to join a big club and that he could not refuse an offer from Chelsea . However, Sevilla FC rejected the three offers from Chelsea FC (which offered up to 40 million euros) on the grounds that the bids were too low. Since Seville's President del Nido was about to destroy Alves' lifelong dream, a battle of words broke out between Alves and del Nido. The 2007/08 season started less well for Alves due to form fluctuations, and he only regained his top form at the end of the season and helped to lead his team to the Champions League eighth-finals and at least one UEFA Cup place in the League to occupy.

Title collector at FC Barcelona

Dani Alves (2015)

On July 2, 2008, Dani Alves left Sevilla FC for FC Barcelona. With tears he said that he would play for Sevilla again and again. The transfer fee was 29 million euros and, depending on his performance, can increase up to 35.5 million euros. He signed a four-year deal with Barça. Alves secured a regular place in his first season at Barça and won the triple with the club . In his first season with the Catalans, he played 54 competitive games in which he scored a total of five goals and provided 14 assists - unusually high figures for a defender. Alves was unable to participate in the Champions League final against Manchester United due to a yellow card suspension.

During the 2009/10 season , this season's undisputed regular player won the Club World Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Super Cup; never before has a team managed to win all six trophies in one year. At the end of the season he successfully defended the Spanish championship with the Catalans.

In the 2010/11 season he was the most frequently used player on his team. With Barça, the Brazilian won the Primera División and the Champions League at the end of this season . In March 2011, Alves extended his contract with Barcelona until 2015.

For the 2013/14 season, Alves took over the shirt number 22 from his friend Éric Abidal , who was ill at times and who moved to AS Monaco after his contract was not renewed. Daniel Alves received international recognition when he ate a banana in the league game against FC Villarreal that had been thrown in his direction seconds before for racist motives.

At the beginning of February 2017, Alves was on the pitch for Juve for the first time . In the home game in the league against Inter Milan , he came on in the 80th minute for Stephan Lichtsteiner .
